20 September 2013

In the event you have read the news about the episodes in Athens and some other areas that
have to do with some unfortunate events between the police and some hooligans, you need to know that it has not spread it has taken place in a particular area that is contained.

Sadly this country has been cornered a bit too far and the majority of the people have reached their limits. In any civilized society, where unemployment has reached over 27% and so many people hardly have the ability to survive, it is a traumatic time.

Thank God that Tourism this year has increased tremendously over 17.5 mil.Tourists came to Greece the past 6 months. This helped the hospitality industry and the economy at large, unfortunately not enough though.

We sincerely hope that the upcoming elections and decision made by the German government as
to how to deal with the countries economy along with the EU,will take into consideration the lack of
flexibility that exist here at this point.

So sad that this beautiful country has so many problems, the amazing thing is that one would not know it, once you visit the mainland, the islands and enjoy it's beauty.

In Poros like most other areas, one would never know all that has been going on. It is too bad that
only bad news travels fast.

On a lighter note, today after a great yoga practice by the water, I spent most of the day painting
while Ron did his usual round on the island and some chores that gave me more time to work.

The weather is a great with a light breeze 80F.

An old friend from Athens is coming in for the weekend, we lived next to each other while we were both in school in London, we look forward to seeing her.

Here are some pictures of the flowers on the island.

This is actually a tree, very unique with very delicate light blue/violate flowers and in addition yellow small  ball like ?? fruit hanging.

I
I also saw this which I will translate for you:

"If you were a tear in my eyes, I would never cry so that I would not loose you!
