01 - 04 October 2013

 Autumn arrived as promised

The wind changed and brought down the cool air from the North while the clouds accumulated and brought us beautiful shadows over the mountains, and the sea.

It felt good actually, we are enjoying this change each morning is another welcomed joy and gift of nature.

In town and around the coffee shops and restaurants, there are two groups of people the multiple sailboat crews who have moored there for the night,  discussing their experience while arriving in Poros and the next day's itinerary and wonder about the winds.

The other groups of people are the locals who without fail discuss that day's political news and constant
issues with the state of the country. Politics, economy an soccer is mostly the popular discussion, even thought these days soccer has lost it's luster when a mention of the latest receipt of an inflated electric
bill is mentioned, as the reality is so painful.

The port last night filled up with mega mega motor yachts, some double deck ones as well as some very beautiful schooners .
During dinner with some British friends, we found out that today they are expecting 130 sail boats!

It will be very interesting and fun watching them come in and the town will be booming!

All the restaurants anticipating a great night, well deserved as summer has not been as good for them, tourist traffic has slowed down due to the economy.

One would wonder when one sees these yachts, the economy??? while looking at these huge luxurious
boats... what a dichotomy and irony, how the world is slowly becoming them and us. It is especially evident in some countries.

The sun is back with fewer clouds and it is getting warmer Ahhh! More to follow with pictures soon.
